Where and how intrusively can a doorman search you? Any idea what you'd do if your mate collapsed on the dance floor or at home? Just what can you do to minimise risk when you've been up all night using your body as a chemistry set? Well, she is wisest who knows she does not know (everything...) so we're delighted that the Vauxhall Business Partnership and friends have organised this fun and informative "Drug Idle" event : Area, Thursday 23 August, 6.30pm.
Who'll be there? Everybody from the folks at St Thomas' to our local bent coppers. FT and Stewart Who? will also be on hand making quite the event. Who should there? Well, so that they're not preaching to the choir, why not grab that mate of yours who knows everything but could do with some tips?

To tackle the ongoing concerns, that people repeatedly collapsing from GHB/GBL there by seriously affecting our community and the future of our Gay Bars & Clubs. This will be the first outing of Drug Idle, which is a fun and informative way to get across important messages relating to drugs, drug safety, search procedures and more.
Information will be relayed in a variety of manners, which include the Drug Idle contest, where contestants who'll be chosen from the audience on the night to test their drug & related knowledge.
Stewart Who? will be asking fun but sometimes tricky questions to find out what people really know about drugs, their dangers, ways to minimise risks and loads of other things including, what to do if things go wrong!
Our expert Panel will be on hand to help answer these questions correctly; and destroy the myths surrounding drugs, for example, last year at least three people died when they collapsed at home, and their friends did not know what to do. Also they will be giving out other useful bits of information.
The Panel shall be made up from representatives from Guy's & St Thomas' Poisons Unit, St George's Hospital, Lambeth's Drug Action Team, Lambeth Police LGBT Liaison Team, Terrence Higgins Trust, Fat Tony the Vauxhall Gay Business Forum and more…
Plus there'll be mini workshops – including what to do when things go wrong? Which will be simplistic training session showing you how to cope with a collapse on the dance floor and what to do until professionally trained help arrives.
Free light refreshments & snacks will be provided, as well as many prizes and give aways for all who take part in Drug Idle.
