There's a gay London suburb in the deep South - further South than Croydon - it's called Brighton. It's by the sea thing and they're having a vibrant gay pride festival on Saturday the 2nd August.
The parade starts by Brighton pier at 11am and wends its way through the town to Preston Park where they have a big party with music tents, cabaret, trade stalls, the Barclay's Community village, funfair, access tent, food stalls and bars.
The park is open from midday and closes at 8pm when the revellers stagger through the town until the club parties start. As a special concession to suburbia we've listed the events and parties in the gay London diary and on your gay London map. Three venues and five clubs are running from 9pm Saturday to 11am Sunday. And if you're getting the train back on Saturday night, don't go for the last one. It will probably be cancelled, if not it'll be late and packed with tired, screaming, bad tempered queens.
