*The Met Police are treating the murder of a young gay man last Tuesday night as a potential homophobic crime. David Cooper (pictured), who was 28, had been on a night out in Soho that ended up with him being murdered in his flat.* The police need to hear from anybody that may have seen him - even if you just know where he was as they can then view the CCTV footage and who he talked to. They know that he visited Compton's, Village and G-A-Y bar from about 18.30 and was seen leaving the Friendly Society at about 11pm. They have no idea how he got home. His body was found by friends the next day at his flat in Calderwood in south east London. He died from head injuries after a very violent attack. If you saw him out, no matter how inconsequential you think it might be, you can contact the incident room on 020 7704 2040, Crimstoppers on 0800 555 111 or the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender officer for Greenwich on 020 8284 9864. They need all the info they can get and are relying on us.
