Market finally returns to fabric for a very special early May Bank Holiday celebration on Sunday 3rd May 2009! The polysexual party brand joins forces with acclaimed fabric residents Wet YourSelf for a very special night, with a focus on an incredible line-up and the freshest crowd around. The WYS crew has been rocking Room One over the last few weeks with a selection of the finest underground DJs, and on 3rd May they welcome Berlin superstar Ellen Allien, whose non-conformist attitude and wildly unhinged energy is the perfect fit for the WYS ethos. Joining her are WYS residents Peter Pixzel, Jacob Husley and Cormac and their cohorts of cool kids and up-for-it followers – expect a sound that is in turn deep, twisted and minimal - plus the truly extraordinary atmosphere WYS have become famous for.
Meanwhile Market will host Room 02 and are delighted to welcome David Penn, over all the way from Madrid and basking in the glory of his fabulous achievements, having seen his recent remix of "I Can't Stop" (Defected - currently probably the most played track on the scene in London – an anthem on at Beyond) reach number 3 in the international House music Downloads. David Penn’s latest release "Our Darkness" also hit the top 10 chart positions worldwide and was one of the most played tracks at the Miami Winter Music Conference. He won 'Best House DJ' in the DJ Mag Awards for the second year running in 2008 and is currently nominated for best House DJ in the Beatport Awards. Other David Penn tracks that have had a major influence on the house scene include Kadoc The "Night Train:, Deux - "Sun Rising Up" and Montilla "From The Stars" – and he has been in very high demand all over clubland lately, so Market are especially chuffed to have secured his only confirmed London spring appearance to date.
Appearing alongside David Penn will be beloved Market supporters and scene-busting Guy Williams (Black Rabbit) and Nick Tcherniak – whilst visual entertainment will be provided by the unbearably sexy Nearly Really Rude Show who return after their much praised performance at Market on New year’s day, to wow the crowds with a super sleek and stylish visual feast of a show…. Adding to the amazing production will be VJ extraordinaire Prickimage with his infamous “strap-on” projecting contraption, to bring the fabric bricks alive in his own unique way.
Other Market regulars (and the girls’ favourite) Wish take over Room Three with two very special headliners – the much hyped (and deservingly so) ,Radio 1 star,Mistress de Funk, who has been busy becoming one of the most prolific female DJs around, will join DJ Rebekah (Custard factory, Criminal) as well as Wish resident Kath Harding for a unique party sound that explores all things house, techno and electro - VJ Hobbyboy will provide the trippy visuals.
fabric is all set for a night to remember, with all the usual eye-catching Market treats and some very special artistic performances… Market and Wet Yourself promise to deliver the most exciting line up London’s gay scene have experienced since Trade and DTPM first open their doors years ago!
Market and Wet Your Self under one roof, at Fabric, Sunday 3rd of May 2009, from 11pm - super late. Miss this and you have missed out!
