Soho Live ’09 – Soho’s street festival
A new Soho street festival from The Edge Bar and the team that brought you Camp Gaydar is currently in the planning stages. Scheduled for Sunday 13th of September ‘09, it’s planned to welcome home Londoners returning to the Capital after their summer of circuit parties, pride events and beach resort holidays.
The new event will be a guilty excuse to have a party, shutting down the streets to traffic and bringing together Soho’s bars and businesses, scene socialites, clubs and new additions from the fashion and sports communities. QSoft Consulting Ltd, owners of Gaydar and GaydarRadio will form a joint venture with The Edge Bar (Soho Square) to deliver the event. The Edge will be responsible for logistics while Gaydar will be responsible for marketing and generating sponsorship for the event.
Trevor Martin, marketing director at Gaydar said; “There’s an annual circuit of Pride events around the world that we support every year. London is Gaydar’s home, but we’d all miss out if an annual Soho community event didn’t take place. We’re committed to further investment in what Gay Londoners’ are expecting and waiting for. Every single person taking to the streets of Soho Live ‘09 will be able to celebrate their own sense of pride”
Andy Jones, owner of The Edge Bar said; “There’s no place like home, and Soho has it all! Dining with celebrities, staying out ‘til the early hours, taking in art exhibitions, walking the Compton Street catwalk and picking up a few purchases on the way or simply relaxing in Soho Square. Ruby slippers not required, it’s all on our doorstep and we’ll be bringing it together for one amazing day!”
