Progress on gay marriage moves forward in Europe: In Hungary a registered partnership law for same sex couples came into operation on 1st July. This gives the same rights to gay couples as married heteros - except for adoption and taking the same surname. Meanwhile in the British appeal court this week, judges ruled that a pre-nup agreement between German heiress Katrin Radmacher and her not so well endowed ex should be recognized in their divorce settlement. Up to now Britain has been fairly unique: British judges paid no attention to pre-nup agreements in divorce cases. So now rich Brits can marry poor guys without fear of getting shafted if it all goes tits up.
