Big Day Out, a music festival in New Zealand, has finally pulled Beenie Man from their festival. It's not entirely clear if he quit or was pushed out. Nor is it clear as to whether the organisers thought having a misogynistic homophobe who condones the murder of gay men and lesbians at your festival was okay or if they had no idea who they were programming.
Interestingly, this rather backward figure is trying to claim that his lyrics aren't homophobic at all and are misinterpreted - they're actually all about rich gays raping children or something. What do you think?
