We’re really enjoying the buzz of this historic weekend. Her Majesty, not Madge (seen here curtsying as she should) you idiots, but HM The Queen has been the one constant in our lives. She’s been there with us, our parents, our grandparents for Gods sake... and so many others through her reign. She’s been there. We felt for her when she lowered that flag... which was odd.
"Continue reading" for a Damaged take on The Queen's big knees up and our We Love You M'am favourite video that best captures our point for us.
It’s funny that we’re surprised when we hear other nations have Royal families. We hear they’re all cool and ride bikes and stuff. Whatever. Our Queen doesn’t do common things or even say much but when she does it matters. She has talked about every minority under the sun for instance. She has issued statements on every disaster to befall her peoples.
Except us. AIDS was a big no no then – well done Diana. But, according to Peter Tatchell who has just written about it, not even when announcing Civil Partnerships or Gay Marriage has our reigning monarch said gay, lesbian or anything else Queen Victoria had no comprehension of… humans like HRH Diana of Vauxhall – who looks like Lizzie One when you see her hair up in daylight. Seriously.
Action: search the web and The Queen has never even said the words gay or lesbian. Do try "Camilla + horsebox".
Moving on, do we still "haunt gays bars" and live in the "shady twilight world of the practising homosexual" in her world?! Have we moved on? Yes, We have. Time she did?
Is it unfair to mention her never acknowledging us this weekend? Well, this weekend's all about Her... and Her peoples. Are we not part of that? Well, let's get real. The Queen’s from a different generation after all. She’s lasted so long by being risk averse. She might have talked about every other minority under the sun, but not when they were fair game for The Sun… or some of the peoples that make up our “Commonwealth”... or as the Church of England calls, them, the Lowest Common Denominators... and Australia.
Your Majesty, you are The Queen and many of the lower case queens love you and our point is - it's time you acknowledged us. It might even improve your stock with Republicans. So, give's a wave instead of the silent finger luv'. It means something when somebody actually waves back. It's Raining Men, get reigning.
Request: Your Majestic Wineness, why not come out as ok on gays with Elton John at your karaoke night outside the Palace - you can get over the gay thing! Then rip his wig off so he can get over that male pattern baldness thing?
If not for us Your Majesty, think of your children;)
Talking of which, here's Prince Edward's crowning achievement...
