A reader has written about a rather extreme pickpocketing scam he experienced over Pride weekend – we’ve edited it for various reasons.
"I was at a sex bar in London on Pride evening and got robbed. No big story there but they went to extraordinary lengths to steal it and went much further than just stealing my wallet..."

"I’m aware of pickpockets but wanted my wallet on me so it on a chain – it’s also large enough to be hard to get out of my pocket and a pain to get out and the cash was in a special zipped section. Here’s how they got it:
I arrived and quickly ended up with a very up for it guy (…) who took me into a dark cubicle. He quickly took off his jeans to get fucked and I did same but he wasn’t getting hard so I quickly abandoned it. Then a while later I cruised a guy and he quickly made a bee line for me and we were soon back in said cubicle getting it on. He was soon ripping all his clothes off and I did same. The cubicle was locked and I'd even taken my wallet and put it down my trouser leg and folded the jeans so it was right pain to get to. My t-shirt was stuffed into my jeans too.
Anyways, whilst we were at it the door opened somehow (...) but I was screwing him and was facing the other way. When I realised this shag wasn’t getting hard either I got suspicious and stopped.. to find my jeans, t-shirt and wallet were gone. Totally gone – the venue staff searched and found nothing. They hadn’t just pinched my stuff so they could get the the wallet and dump the rest - they’d left the venue with all my clothes obvioulsy to make a quick getaway. The venue also checked the next day before opening and found nowt – and believe them as I know them.
Looking back it’s clear they were working together and had a plan – often the case everybody has since told me. It was a huge amount of effort involving getting screwed for just £20... which the venue actually gave me back along with some clothes so I could get home. I'm not mentioning the venue as this could have happened anywhere and this one venue couldn't have been more helpful on the night. Could it have been for a laugh?
Oh and one more thing: when somebody's robbed like this you really don't need to ask why they didn't do this or that. I just didn't think somebody would go to such lengths to get my wallet and leave somebody naked."
DD SAYS: So, next time you’re a bit trashed do recall the story about the guy who bet on a shag and lost his t-shirt, jeans and wallet. THINK YOUR TIPSY?, THINK COAT CHECK!
