Bars in Islington are facing a new "night-time" tax. Basically something called the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 allows councils to charge licensed premises open between midnight and 6am a levy, to help cover the cost of policing. It's £300-£4,440.
In Vauxhall most of the bars and clubs voluntarily agreed to contribute to Vauxhall One - it's aiming to look after the place and make it all nice.
