If you feared clubbing in Paris was as happening and welcoming as well your stereotypical Parisian, you'd be right.  Over to our man in Paris who writes:

On Saturday 21 January the French police raided Paris' brand new gay venue and it would appear that they have forced the club to close its backroom.  Well anyway for the Pagano night on the 21st January and also for the Beyond visit last Saturday the backroom was most definitely closed.

I hope of course that they can get it opened again but it just goes to show that Paris, whilst only 2 hours away from London, is in terms of its policing of the gay community, in the stone age.

TEAM DAMAGED ON TOUR: LA DEMENCE CRUISE

A quick reminder, whilst we've a shaky internet connection in Mykonos, that we are still away - a full Damaged service will resume Saturday when we return and if we can string a sentence together.

What's the cruise like?  Imagine a full on club with almost no security and being free to do what you like, when you like to who you like.  It's brilliant. There was no warm-up, the party started immediately and so much so departure was delayed due to our one and only g casualty. He survived, nobody noticed we hadn't actually left the harbour?!  The staff didn't know what hit them and the first three days were quite frankly mental:)  The partying didn't stop until our arrival in Malta where we arrived early as we needed an ambulance for a guy who'd injected his cock with something and had a hard on for 16 hours and it was turning blue - as soon we docked, it went down and the ambulance was sent away! 

For a boat of 1200 partying gays there's been very little drama other than those two incidents - superb.  We'll have a full on report on the madness of the La Demence with comedy details when we return.

JACK VAC 6: A STARRY AND UNDAMAGED END

Wednesday was the gang's last day and they decided to drive up into the mountains in the interior and try to see the Milky Way. They hired a car (40€ and very informal) and drove for about half an hour towards Fatage in the interior. Click the headline for the celibate story.

Annoyingly London Pride and Madrid gay pride are on the same weekend. But we went to check out their website at www.madridgaypride.com to see what was on. Great music and images on the intro page, but when we hit the Skip button we got a message saying "Monthly web and ftp traffic exceeded". Tsk, tsk – too popular.

SLIME FOUND IN LABORATORY

Six times a year they have a slime party at lab.oratory, industrial scale Berlin s*x club, in the same building as Berghain. Discodamaged had heard great things about this party and sent Jack to visit on 30th January when they had the most recent one. The dress code is naked so he took his oldest trainers, a spare pair of socks, a towel and a f*ck-buddy. The weather was still freezing and snowy – Berlin has had snow on the ground since Christmas – so clubs and bars have been poorly attended. BERLIN'S TOM'S BAR: LOCALS ONLY!

Grim news from Berlin's Motzstrasse where the self-proclaimed "famous" Tom's bar has taken to turning away Brits! Yes, a few our own wandered in on a quiet Monday night for their 2 for 1 drinks promo. They were promptly escorted out and told it was for locals only.

We don't ever recall being made to feel welcome at Tom's and they deliberately take an age to serve us when we're there. It's totally disgusting behaviour that smacks of racism quite frankly. So, we strongly suggest you avoid the bar, their hotel and such like as they really really don't want you in there. Check out our Berlin site for better options, there are lots of other bars around.

BRITS ABROAD: WE ROCK!

Brits abroad. Exemplified by the likes of Sky One following a bunch of teenagers from Newcastle around Malaga on a drunken rampage usually ending up in A&E. Averse to local history or anything outside the "English Pub", the only culture they take in requires a course of antibiotics on their repatriation to Britain by the local police. Vile. But what's this? Expedia asks 4,500 hoteliers who the best tourists are and we're SECOND BEST in the world! Good enough for us!

DD goes South America

Team damaged held its annual summit conference in South America this year. Being cautious types they dedicated most of their time to Buenos Aires and one weekend to São Paulo. As well as making important and positive strategic decisions on the future of discodamaged, they managed to fit in some leisure time. If they have their summit in South America next year, they will avoid Argentina. Sao Paulo was more prosperous, more fun and the people were much more into partying.
