Four gay bars are supporting GMFA on Valentines weekend. On Saturday 13th Yard Bar in Soho, Kazbar in Clapham, and The Green in Islington are having Red Party theme nights and on Sunday 14th Village bar Soho is holding a "Valentine’s Free" event. GMFA volunteers will be rattling buckets at all these events. We put them in the gay London calendar.
"Let there be light" seems to have been the main objective of this popular local bar's recent refit and it has worked. Putting windows instead of a wall down a long expanse facing a side street has "opened it up a bit". It needed that and this place really could be one of the best bars south of the river.
Whilst letting the light in has been an inspred idea, Sadly, it's a shame the staff haven't learnt to lighten up tho and that's the missed opportunity about this otherwise good venue.
The Clapham Street Party takes place on Saturday 28 June from 2-10pm, it is a joint event between Kazbar and the Two Brewers and GMFA is their nominated charity. There will be entertainment including cabaret from Sandra and a celebrity auction hosted by Michelle Collins. They're also hoping to get some Aussie Bum models to appear and auction their underwear!
