Hi Pandolf. Thanks for the interest. There is a lot going on around Brick Lane on a Sunday, but it tends to be parties playing full on techno and house. Whilst I do find these places fun, we thought we would try doing a party that wasn't quite so full on that you could enjoy even if you've not been out since the night before. And as for the gay question, I'm gay, and the two people I'm organising it with are, but we're not looking to label it a gay party. Its for anyone and everyone who wants some fun on a Sunday in Brick Lane regardless of sexual orientation. Hope to see you there though!

Jazz Vixens play at Citipink for gay women.
Citipink spend one Sunday a month at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s jazz bar. They hire Ronnie's bar exclusively and arrange live music for gay women. This month The Jazz Vixens are delighted to perform, an all female band drawn together by their love of all things jazz! Combining our own unique styles and sounds as well as all breaking traditional jazz pre-conceptions, we bring glamour, class and more than a touch of sassiness to classics and modern numbers alike.
Tickets are £15 and must be bought online.

How can you laugh, cry, have fun and meet guys... at the THEATRE?!
'What's Wrong With Angry?' is THE night out for anyone who loves a great time. Sell-out, rave reviews and quite rightly too. I was lucky enough to catch this at the Edinburgh fringe last year and I've NEVER forgotton it...

just search for Dalston Superstore on facebook and it should bring up the fan page. or click on this link

(which I repeated here, sorry George)
nt sure if there is an official site, probably not as it's more word of mouth than acres of promo.

Last night went to a new gay bar called Dalston Superstore. It's at 117 Kingsland Road. Opposite Argos.
Got there not really knowing much about it apart from that it is new and that everyone was going there this weekend.
Got there and it consists of an upstairs bar with high ceiling and huge skylights. Very minimal and chic. Nice colored lighting without being too bright or dark. Friends thought it reminded them of New York bars or bars in Berlin, this was the general consensus. Very spacious. And then downstairs with a full on dancefloor and some guy from Discobloodbath DJing. Nice dancing space. Good atmosphere. Crowd was an assorted sexy bunch of East End queers but without the kiddy fashionistas of The George and what The Joiners have now become.
They have assorted DJs such as Princess Julia and Hannah Holland all weekend so the music is always changing.
£3.40 for a bottle of beer and no draught so if you like drinnking beer might get a bit pricey BUT, the bar only just opneed and it is a work in progress apparently.
It's very unpretentious so get there fast before the trendy kids come along and ruin it's nice vibe it has going.
Open 5pm - 2am. Possibly later licence to come.
And no I do not know who is behind it. It does not need me or anyong promoting it because it is the new bar on everyone's lips right now.
Was a pleasant evening and home at 2.30 :-D
Search for Dalston Supermarket in Facebook and you will find the page

Does anyone else think that the gay scene should bring back the the concept of having a chill out room? It would be great to have somewhere to calm down or go for a chat.
Or was it the rise of Ketamine which lead to their demise?

mulletover is doing a one off, they are going to area for 1 night because warehouse location are a bit cold at this time of the year. They always go to club for their birthday or xmas party.
They did once SE1 if I'm right.
But I must say I don't like Area as a venue, it will not be as fun as the last location for the halloween party.
But I will recommend Mulletover which is one of the most exiting party in london, instead of all this fake spanish party in the gay scene.

Super fine crowd it most certainly is !! Shame some of the gay clubs dont have the same vibe......but then these clubs concentrate on a lot more than just bad drugs, dire music and cheap sex which it seems all the gay scene can offer us.
Give me a mixed or straight club night any time.

are the promoters of Mulletover absolutely stupid? They must know what they are getting themselves into? Stand by for the thief of Vauxhall to strike again!
oh dear!!!!

Yeah Mulletover at Area will have a super fine crowd!! I might just go if I can kick this spore throat.
It's been kind of quiet on DD so
I decided to post this mix I did earlier this summer.
If you like Mulletover you'll LOVE this mix.
It starts of spacey house before moving into very upfront quite banging dancefloor contemporary house and then going more trancy techy at the end. It's quite epic this mix. I made it earlier in the summer and never posted anywhere until now. It's one of my best and I'm very proud of it!
Includes labels and artists such as Freemasons, Shapeshifters, etc etc.
Nah.. only joking! ;-D
Including: Spiritcatcher, Williams, Get Physical, Martin Buttrick, Planet E, Serge Santiago, Junior Boys, Carl Craig, Timo Mass, Hugo, Quarion, Crowdpleaser, Booka Shade, Vincenzo, Drumpoet Community, Driodo, Jona and more!!

Fingers crossed that Mulletover and Kubicle are roaring successes even if at Area and The LightBox...... and that the usual gay trash that frequents Vauxhall on a Saturday evening - Sunday morning manage to keep away. The last thing that these fantastic clubs need are a load of Gd up naff queens messing up what are brilliant nights and basically ruining everyone elses good time.

I don't know what happened to that thread regarding straight events at Area, but perhaps it'll be of interest to people that Mulletover is being held at Area for the first time this Saturday, which should attract a more benign and open-minded crowd than the drum'n'bass events previously held there during normal hours. Apparently there's an afterparty at the Lightbox from 6AM.
