We’ve upped our game. We had to decide what to do with Damaged lately. Despite our best efforts (run for a laugh, no poofing, no marketing, no office…) our readership’s hit highs of 30,000.  However, our listings haven’t been good enough for that amount of readers... What to do?!

A flurry of whingers recently (some of whom I've had to delete as they were just vile) who do that anon hit 'n run bitch slap so we've re-enabled the need to comment.  Sorry for that but can't bare negative crap!  Love constructive and want to hear about things folk are liking ta very much.

COMMENTING ON DAMAGED

We had a spate of moaning old ladies destroying the site a while back - they complaned about everything and everybody and even nostalgia wasn't what it used to be to them.  They were bitter, driven and used our site to vent forcing us to require that you register. They've laregly buggered off so, from now on, all you need is an email and the ability to do that squiggly wordy thing.  If you're registed  you can still register so we know who you are:)

1. We're going to monitor and if anybody's just being a sour faced old biatch we're just delete their moan/ b*tch and ban them - no questions asked.

2. Banning is at the editors discretion/ whim and there's no right of reply or appeals process.

3. Have you noticed how old ladies who fall over sound like whining cats?  I found the one pictured recently and it made an awful sound. Must remember to pop back since I got the pic - did promise!

Thanks very much for the four reviews you posted on Monday. You are so good that I elevated you to discodamaged author and made them separate articles (see below). It makes the reviews much more accessible from the map and the CLUBS BARS list, so people can read them in months to come. In order to do this I have had to borrow your name. Hello people! We do like comments on discodamaged but the constant whinging about Vauxhall / Fire / Area is getting beyond tiresome and boring. I go to Area and Fire and Union and the rest and they all do a reasonable job. Lots of other people enjoy them too.  If you don't, go somewhere else and tell us about the somewhere else. I have deleted quite a few of the recent comments and for the time being will delete EVERY moaning comment about clubs in Vauxhall. I am now going out and getting very very drunk.

HOUSE RULES

Seems like some low brow bitchin' was enjoyed via our comment sections. We pride ourselves on being a forum where people can say what they like about clubs and stuff. However, we draw the line at negative/ just plain mean and cheap comments about named persons... unless they're Iris Robinson. We will not go down that cesspit - there are plenty of other places you can b*tch and cast aspersions. We imagine it's easily done but it's not welcome here:) Truth be told, we can't be a**ed manning a playground.

TEN COMMANDMENTS?

A couple of people have asked us to show more than the last 10 comments. We'd love to do it, but the ever helpful Typepad people say no. Or not without huge difficulty.
Sadly, we have also had to ban a couple of commenters (you know who you are). In spite of a warning, they persistently promoted strange places to the point of boredom. They can apply for reinstatement in 6 months.

ABUSIVE COMMENTS

Comments such as "your tired and sad arse on the seen [sic], and your pathetic arse licking comments" are barely acceptable. Abusive comments such as "The promoters there are parasites" "that shitbag of a creature ...." "...you're an ass licker of the highest order" are not acceptable. The author has been banned.

Comment Moderation

Sorry for the confusing comments PJ and others. Some people (Jason, TomAn, IKNOWITALL) are making abusive, spiteful and unverifiable comments. They're also just repeating them endlessly. Somebody answers their comments, we see them a few hours / days later, then we remove them. Sitting here removing comments is not our idea of fun. As PJ suggests, if it goes on, we will have to close the site to comments, for a while at least. We get up to 50 comments per day, at the moment they get published as soon as they are written. We can't be watching 24-7.

As an example, statements like "FOR LONDON AMBULANCE TO SORT OUT THERE 30-50 G H B COLLAPSES AT EACH PARTY AS YE EVER ONLY  HAVE 1 MEDIC..." are obvious fantasy. That's why comments get removed.

Finally, may we convey apologies to anybody working on our scene as a DJ or whatever whose been got at.  You know, we know that they're wankers but we also know it's not nice.

HEADS-UP: Damaged is proud to be one of the few places where you can say what you want.  We've even now provided a special forum for those who bring Fire up all over the place:)  Just please meet us half-way?  We've noticed some named persons, such as DJs being bitched about.  It's hard commenting on music without mentioning whose behind it but there's a line.  Keep on the right side of it please. If you see anything you don't like please report it so we can delete and bar the idiot/ loon/ etc behind if it necessary.

GET REGISTERED

Damaged has introduced registration for those who want to contribute to the site by leaving comments.  It's quick, idiot proof and only needs done once. Once registered, using a valid email address, you're free to comment and you can even opt to be notified when stuff relevant to your comments happens.

UPDATE: So far we've had just on person gong out of their way to register with a new email address set up specially so that they can play impostor and damage a business.  They claimed to be The Trade Collective stating Trade was cancelled and more.  Sad f*ckwits but we've traced them to Orange Internet, have their Orange allocated account number, location and the critical log files,  They're barred and we await to see if Trade wish to  report this to the police, launch sure to win legal proceedings or at least have Orange discontinue their contract.  They have a very strong case given the clearly malicious info was intended to damage the business in financial and other ways and they can nail the mentalist.

All abusers or just dreary c*nts will be barred from now on and all info offered to the injured party. Editors decision will be arbitrary, non-negotiable final and done whilst hoping we never become so screwed up. Please help us by reporting anything untoward via the REPORT ABUSE button.

DJs ARE HUMAN SHOCK

Help needed: please help me here and appreciate that when I say no personally abusive comments etc that includes DJs.  It's tough enough for these guys and rare women who walk a tricky path on our stupidly political scene.  I won't have DJs abused on Damaged no matter what your reasons.  I'd really appreciate your help here please.  By all means talk about sets and what you like and don't like but show some human respect. Amazed this needs underlined.

We're keen to keep our focus so that people can find the reviews and info they want quickly.  If you're new to Damaged please read the LEGAL STUFF: basically keep it real, positive and constructive.  No bitchin', moaning, "isms" or such like please.  Thanking you.

Yes dear readers, the answer to your prayers is here!  As of now we're helping the Moaning Minnies of the world (repeat moaners) get out of that rut by simply banning them!  Yes, new BAR-A-MOANER removes 100% more pains than our previous policy of just banning personally abusive comments.  How's the magic work? Well, given Moaning Minnies often have Multiple Moaning Personalities we bar comments from their IP address.  We'll unblock them once things are more positve.

Bottom line: it's fine to constructively criticise but repeatedly moaning about everything's boring.

We need your help.  The site's become more and more popular and we're not able to read every comment that's posted.  We'd therefore appreciate it if you could email us when you see something abusive - that's anything that gets personal and bitchy.  To help you we're installing a REPORT ABUSE link to a) make it easier and b) remind you to do it.

We'll then look at if it has crossed the line and assuming it has, delete the comment and bar that person from commenting in future.  Damaged is a fun environment for the quick exchange of info and views, not personal attacks.
